This watercolour is a study in peaceful serenity and the whole of Hidcote Garden has this in spades. I love greens and the stillness of the subject gives a great feel of a quiet evening with the light mellowing and the sky reflected in the water. No sounds accept the birdlife, no encroaching visitors at the peaceful end of the day, just a watercolourist soaking up the scene.
