I was commissioned to paint a hidden valley high over Widecombe up on Dartmoor by the two riders; the painting was a great success. I took some pictures of them following me up so I decided to make this a subject too.

This watercolour has power enough to dazzle with light, contrasts are the key, there is no use of white paint here, just the pure white of the paper and the strong use of darks which boost up the contrast. A captivating image that draws your attention.
